MDF
Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) is an engineered wood product formed from both hardwood and softwood fibres through the application of high temperature and pressure. Because small wood fibres are used in the manufacturing of this product, MDF is free of voids and demonstrates no visible wood grain, rings, or knots. Standard MDF is stronger in comparison to particleboard and allows for deep, detailed profiling. Applications With its smooth and even surface, as well as the ease in which it machines and paints, MDF is a popular lay-up panel and is most commonly used in the manufacturing of cabinets, furniture, drawer and furniture bottoms, shelving, interior doors and door frames, mouldings and trim, decorative and craft projects. We are home to the excellent range of laminated MDF boards to help you make your dream home look exactly like you imagine!
PARTICLE BOARD
The Particle Board also known as Chipboard, is an engineered wood product manufactured from rubber wood chips and a synthetic resin or binder, which is forming panels by applying pressed and extruded. The Melamine Faced Particle Board is manufactured by high pressure and high heat bonding impregnated paper to Plain Particle Board, and provide a highly Scratch, Heat, Abrasion, Steam, and Chemical or Stain Resistant product surface finishing Perfectly fit for home decor, interior fixtures, ceiling partitions, walls and doors, display cabinets, etc, we deliver standard size particle boards in the finish and designs of your choice.
HDMR
It is the compression of hardwood particles through an adhesive that lends HDHMR its moisture resistance. HDHMR stands for high-density high moisture resistance board. These boards are manufactured by pressing the hardwood waste & fibre chips together to form a homogeneous board. It is the compression of hardwood particles through an adhesive that lends HDHMR its moisture resistance. A special glue is used while manufacturing these types of boards. HDHMR boards have uniform density gradients & firmly pressed compact cores. When compared to plywood & other boards, the density of these boards is much better due to high compaction. HDMR boards are resistant to termites, moisture, stains and all the other evils. We offer the widest range of designs, shades in pastels and wood grains to make your interiors look one of its kinds.
COMPARISON
ATTRIBUTES | PLYWOOD | PARTICLE BOARD | HDMR | MDF |
Composition | Plywood is made of thin sheets of wood that are laminated in alternating directions | Particleboard is made by combining wood chips, shavings, fibers, and adhesives | Uniform density and compact core makes them tougher than Plywood | (MDF) is made of very fine wood fibers that are glued and compressed under great pressure |
Strength | Good at providing rigidity for structures | Offers medium rigidity | High Density & High Moisture Resistant, thus longer lasting | Offers medium rigidity |
Screw holding capacity | Stronger cross-grain pattern, that allows strong grip to screws and nails | Less firm at holding the screws | Enhanced screw and withdrawal strength | Highly compressed, thus holds screws firmly |
Usage | They absorb moisture easily, thus plywood is not fit for exterior usage | They can be applied for home decor, interior fixtures, ceiling partitions, walls and doors, etc. | Can be used at moisture-prone areas, outdoor fixtures, kitchen shutters door shutters, etc. | MDF can be used for wardrobes, doors, media units, bunk beds, kitchen cabinets, shelving units, etc. |
